The School of Music and Oral Tradition of the Institución Libre de Enseñanza introduces two new activities in its´cycle, "The sounds of other times, today": the concert "The Art of the Medieval Singer. The exaltation of singing between the ninth and thirteenth centuries" and a Master course in Medieval monody..
The first will be given by the Ensemble Gilles Binchois and will be reviewed by Paloma Gutiérrez del Arroyo, while the latter will be given by several members of the aforementioned Ensemble, namely Dominique Vellard, Anne-Marie Lablaude, and Anne Delafosse. The three will work in depth on pneumas, modes, style, emission and the conduction of the voice in medieval liturgical monody, and they will devote part of the work to mixed schola and schola separated by high and low voices, as well as the ability to work on solo singing. The course is aimed at singers already initiated in medieval monody, although the registration is also open to people interested in attending as listeners.
Both ticket sales for the concert and registration for the course are now open.
