The exhibition presented the evolution of a vital and creative writer valenciano Juan Chabás (1900-1954), with the object of showing the uniqueness of its multi-faceted production, which encompasses various genres- lyric, prose art and essays, historiography, theatre-, as an example of the process of literary and cultural life of Spain in the first half of the 20th century. It is designed to recover one of the figures unfairly forgotten by the generation of ' 27, the development of which the writer participated actively and in which he held a prominent place as a novelist, critic and poet. The sample, divided into three sections ("In the artistic avant-garde," "An intellectual republican" and "The travels of the exile"), being not only the cultural environment of the avant-Garde in the twenties, the second Republic and the civil war, as well as the significant and vast literary production of Chabás during that time, but also the daily life and intellectual work that the Spanish writer he developed during his exile in the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and fundamentally, before his early death, in Cuba. The documentation that is exhibited, much of it unpublished, including first editions, journals, magazines and newspapers of the period, writings, and personal objects, photographs, drawings, and paintings.
