The third season of the cycle "to Extend the Right to education" presents, under the title "Open school", argues that one of the most interesting challenges of our time is to rethink and develop new forms of education to ensure the right to learn beyond a few specific spaces, educational institutions or the classroom, and some times, formal education, and highly standardised curriculum or training programs. We need a school that lets other actors in; that connects learning, work on projects, mixes disciplines, classrooms, levels, and students; a school that promotes interaction and relationships. A humanising school.
To open this season, we have organized a conversation with two major players of Latin American education , two people who are deeply committed to education and the transformation of educational processes: Melina Furman and Pepe Menéndezwho will take part the conversation "Teaching differently, re-signifying the school".
Melina is a professor of the School of Education at the University of San Andrés (Argentina), a researcher of the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) and the author of Teach different. Guide to innovate without getting lost on the way (2022), while Pepe is a professor, advisor for international education and the author of, among others, of Worthwhile schools. How to lead change processes in the school (2020).
The entry to our auditorium is free until capacity is full.
