Throughout history, maps have evolved and we have been showing you the secrets of the world, from Ptolemy to the present Geographic Information Systems. In this workshop we will explore the different ways to represent the territory, mountains, bays, oceans, and all the species that lurk in it. Participants will become geographers and explorers from the imaginary collective and individual, will create a map of your own to show that art, science and nature can go hand in hand.

From the puerto de Navafría, we will explore the mountains of pyrenean oak trees and pine wild and wet areas of the willow, entering the world symbiotic these forests. We will use dichotomous keys to identify and describe species, from trees and plants to symbiotic fungi and parasites, seeing how they interrelate and are held in the ecosystem.

To become true botanicals, we will explore the work that scientists do in the field, learning to identify species from the study of the leaves and through the creation of drawings botanical detailed. In addition, we will create our own statement of specimens, emulating the work of the expedition in their exploration of the nature.

In this workshop we will discover how the matter can be transformed through two fascinating perspectives: changes of state-conventional (such as the vaporization and sublimation), and the step of the macroscopic world to the microscopic. Through interactive experiments, participants observed close to phenomena such as the sublimation of the dry ice, and will learn how you can transform the graphite, a three-dimensional material, in two-dimensional layers of graphene. We'll be revealing some of the secrets behind the special effects in the film, fantasy and we will prepare a two-dimensional material to observe under a microscope.

This workshop on photonics will serve to explore fascinating aspects of the physics of light. We will discover why the wings of the butterfly and the peacock feathers are colored as bright and learn how to use these effects in photonic devices and everyday items such as letters Pokémon! In addition, we will work on fluorescence, its properties, and its practical applications, thereby becoming artists who paint in the dark.

The aim of the workshop is to be introduced in the physics of soft matter, more specifically in the hydrogels, and as these structures are very present in our day-to-day. In particular, during the activity we will be forming a hydrogel with the same components as the gums. In addition, we will use the gels to encapsulate inside the cooking water lombard, a detector of natural acidity, which changes colour depending on the degree of acidity of the medium with which it is mixed.

During the workshop we will learn about the different mammals that exist in our natural environment and how to detect them through their traces (footprints, droppings, horns, bones, etc). We will also learn to identify the main species by means of automatic cameras installed in strategic places.

In the excursion we will visit the farm the Borril where we will be able to see live several of these species and observe their behavior to get to know them in depth. This place is home to individuals of several species that have been rescued and healed, but which for various reasons can not return to your life of freedom. We will also meet on the ground of the mediterranean ecosystem and its plants, lichens and fungi, the most characteristic, while looking for traces of the presence on freedom of animals who learned how to study during the workshop.

The meadow is the result of a historical symbiosis between nature and human being. We will visit one of the locations best preserved of this type of ecosystem. We will connect on a nice walk, with the keys of their evolution, with the aesthetics of the landscape and with the traces that provide the fauna and the flora in this unique space.

In this activity, you will discover the secrets of how to form solar systems. We will get to know the incredible size of our Solar System and explore how scientists discover planets that revolve around other stars. As it was in Antarctica in the past, in this workshop, the Solar System will be our great challenge. Would appreciate an interactive way how we communicate with the spacecraft sent to the farthest reaches of our galaxy and the fascinating challenges faced by the astronauts and scientists to achieve it.

El objetivo del taller es introducir a los jóvenes en las técnicas científicas y artesanales para la conservación de material vegetal, con el fin de prolongar la vida útil de flores y hojas mediante métodos de secado y preservación. Los participantes realizarán prácticas de recolección, prensado, secado y preservación con glicerina, así como composiciones creativas con el material tratado.

El taller está diseñado para introducir a los niños y niñas en los principios de una alimentación saludable de forma lúdica, práctica e interactiva. A través de juegos, actividades creativas y la preparación de un almuerzo equilibrado, aprenderán a identificar los alimentos que componen un plato saludable, a tomar decisiones conscientes sobre su alimentación y comprenderán la importancia de adoptar buenos hábitos desde edades tempranas.

Este taller tiene como objetivo enseñar los fundamentos del ajardinamiento vertical, explorando los beneficios ecológicos, estéticos y funcionales de estas instalaciones. Se presentarán los materiales más adecuados y las especies vegetales que mejor se adaptan a climas como el de Hospital de Órbigo. Como parte práctica, se ampliará el jardín vertical ya existente, construyendo un nuevo tramo desde la esquina actual hasta la puerta de la caseta de bombas.

Se trabajarán los cambios de estado del agua tal y como ocurren en la atmósfera. Mediante reproducciones a escala los participantes podrán estudiar cómo sucede la evaporación, condensación y precipitación, así como las interconexiones entre atmósfera, hidrósfera, geosfera y biosfera. Además, el taller versará sobre las principales características del clima atlántico de San Vicente de la Barquera, comparándolo con el resto de los climas de la Tierra.

El objetivo del taller es descubrir cómo se formó la Luna y las características y causas de su peculiar órbita alrededor de la Tierra. También trabajaremos sobre los materiales de los que está hecho nuestro satélite y sobre cómo se originaron los cráteres que cubren su superficie. Además, hablaremos del programa Artemis de la NASA para la vuelta del hombre a la Luna, y veremos cómo son los cohetes, las estaciones espaciales, los rovers lunares y los hábitats en la superficie lunar que usarán los astronautas para hacer su trabajo.
Professor:
Emilio Lapeña. Ingeniero aeroespacial en Airbus Crisa, trabajando en la misión Artemis para la vuelta del hombre a la Luna.

Los participantes podrán aprender sobre cartografía y los Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG) actuales. Al mismo tiempo, se convertirán en geógrafos subiendo al Castillo del Rey para, desde ahí, generar sus propias representaciones geográficas del pueblo, la costa y el imaginario de San Vicente de la Barquera.

Los participantes podrán trabajar con distintas soluciones químicas y procesos físicos de acción reacción para crear sus propios vehículos autopropulsados. También se reflexionará sobre el transporte sostenible y las problemáticas ambientales que conllevan los recursos naturales no renovables.

El objetivo del taller es acercar al alumnado al uso de herramientas digitales aplicadas al huerto escolar, promoviendo una gestión más eficiente, creativa y sostenible. Se fomenta el aprendizaje activo, el trabajo en equipo y la conciencia ambiental mediante el uso de TIC. Además, se potencia la capacidad de documentar y difundir las actividades del huerto a través de blogs, redes sociales o plataformas del centro. Todo ello busca modernizar el enfoque del huerto escolar y hacerlo más visible y participativo.
