The Institución Libre de Enseñanza (ILE) is a training centre and a centre for reflection on the future of education, science and culture. It is committed to education as an essential factor for the autonomy and personal development of citizens and for the progress and welfare of society. It carries out studies and research projects, courses, seminars, conferences and debates with programmes that update the values linked to its tradition: appreciation and care for nature, defence of peace, human rights and intercultural respect, tolerance, dialogue and participation, equality, solidarity and inclusion.
